National Day in China

Today, October 1, the entire Chinese nation celebrates the National Day of the People's Republic of China. This is the most important political holiday in the country. It marks the day in 1949 when legendary Chinese leader Mao Zedong proclaimed the formal founding of the People's Republic of China.
